If you have been to Wales in the last year or two -or be interested in golf- it is hard to void the fact that the Ryder Cup is coming to the Celtic Manor Resort this coming September. So much has Visit Wales pushed the Ryder Cup possibilities that some people wonder why else you should go there. But after the Cup, people will still play golf and it isn’t only Wales that has courses.
After Homecoming in 2009, Scotland has to decided that it will attract golfers with its Drive it Home promotion.

Last month CD Traveller reader, T Fleetwood, wrote in for some recommendations on what fifty somethings should see and do Down Under. Always aiming to please, we asked the experts –Tourism Australia and Tourism New Zealand –for a few ideas. Here’s what they had to say…

Returning to an old hobby horse of mine, I had to change terminals at Heathrow so I caught the Heathrow Connect service to get me from terminals 4 to 3. In the old days before terminal 5, you caught the Heathrow Express service which linked the terminals at no cost to you. (You pay only if you went on in to Paddington) Now the Heathrow Express doesn’t stop at 4 only the stop for 1 and 3 and then 5. (For those of you who weren’t aware terminal 2 doesn’t exist as BAA rebuilds it)

Summer 2010 will see South Africa stage football’s greatest show: the FIFA World Cup. The games will be held in nine cities including Durban. The city has been pouring millions of rand into new infrastructure including a state-of-the-art football ground, The Durban Stadium, which will seat no fewer than 70,000 fans.
But there’s more to South Africa’s third largest city than the FIFA World Cup Finals. Local resident, Heather Reed, reveals why South Africa’s seaside playground rivals Cape Town as the Rainbow Nation’s most popular tourist destination…

his is a claim made by Kuoni in a new report that they have issued. In it they say that about half of all life changing decisions are made after a holiday has taken place. It would seem that the relaxing nature of a holiday gives people time to think.
The most popular subject for conversation is apparently the work life balance followed by getting healthier and fitter. And the more money you have the greater the percentage of people who discuss these subjects. Three quarters of the people said that holidays can break or make relationships but this declines as peole get older. Age seems to make people grow fonder of each other.
