May we just remind you, as we get into peak holiday time, to be wary of one of the scams that always happens at this time of year. When you return from holiday you get a phone call to say you have won a holiday. All you have to do is choose where to go and turn up for a introductory session to hear a short presentation about it.
Sometimes you will be told it is not timeshare. Other words are used like holiday ownership
We’ve mentioned before the train deals available to those over 55. Many other deals are dependent on you being a senior, under 25, having a railcard or both. Here comes an offer from London Midland that provides a 50% discount for anyone regardless of age.
From 1st August to 5th September you can travel anywhere on the London Midland network which extends from London to Liverpool, from Hereford via Worcester to Birmingham and from Shrewsbury to Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington Spa. That’s pretty much the whole of the West Midlands area, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Northants and Buckinghamshire.
In the light of the difficulty of finding the cheap air tickets as advertised, do these exist?
I’ve just had one of those e-mails that says the ticket is free. You just pay the taxes and charges. This one has come from Aer Lingus. I need to go to Belfast in the next couple of weeks so I thought I’d see how much it would eventually cost me. In my mind I was thinking of maybe £20-£30 after the APD (Air Passenger Duty) was included.
How wrong I was!
