Was I hearing properly? All I wanted was a hotel room. Did the colour matter? Would colour influence whether I had a comfortable stay or not? Who knows, so, being a bit perverse for a male, I plumped for the pink thinking I would take a few pictures so that I could show my wife that such a thing exists.

The April Fools Jokes That Aren’t

Over the Easter weekend there were three stories that made me wonder whether April Fools’ Day lasts longer then a single day. All were concerned with airlines and only one cheered me up.
All of you have probably heard of the strange case of easyJet at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport where two passengers arrived with a man in a wheelchair. The problem was that he was dead and it looks as though the women, his wife and daughter, were trying to take him back to Germany. The taxi driver appears not to have noticed the fact that the man was dead but airport workers did. Now I could have believed that was an April Fool but human nature seems odder than you can make up.

Ban Duty Free Alcohol & Perfume Sales

This view comes not from anyone in the UK but from two German trades unions. According to Der Spiegel’s online news service,(www.spiegel.de) the head of the German police union and the head of the pilots union have both called for bans on the sale of liquids like perfume and alcohol because of their potentially lethal use. Alcohol is inflammable and exists in perfumes as well as the bottles of spirits we buy.
The police union chief, Rainer Wendt, claims that once a passenger clears security checks and gets airside, everything a terrorist needs to build a contraption can be found in the duty free and restaurant areas.
True or not, this ban is unlikely to happen.
