As the first and only Zagat rated Caribbean island, it’s no surprise that Barbados is cooking up a treat treats for travelers in 2010. Enter the inaugural Barbados Food & Wine & Rum Festival which will run from 19-22 November. British Michelin starred chef Fergus Henderson will be joined by other culinary stars such as Marcus Samuelsson, Ming Tsai and Tim Love as well as wine experts and mixologists, all of whom will showcase their skills.
Visiting gourmands can also check out new restaurant Ne Nishi. The brainchild of Paul Edwards (a former London restaurateur and Formula One Catering legend), NeNishi is billed as “a sophisticated twist of informal eating and drinking with a diverse and creative menu of Asian and Caribbean cuisine including an extensive sushi bar.”
The message it seems, from Barbados Tourism Authority at this year’s World Travel Market, is ditching the diet and prepare your taste buds for one hell of a treat!
