Althorp, Northampton – Althorp Literary Festival
The 8th Althorp Literary Festival will take place on Friday 10, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June 2011.?Over the past seven years the Althorp Literary Festival has evolved into one of the unmissable events of the English summer. This will be the first time that the Festival will be held over not two, but three days.?Hearing famous authors in the setting of one of Englands best loved historic houses has proved to be a winning combination. Althorp is not all about books. We also have included in the programme concerts, drama, and unusual tours of the 500 year-old house. The programme extends from David Starkey to Jenny Eclair, and from one of this countrys great modern generals to the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.?And we are also marking the 400th anniversary of the 1611 King James Bible – the best-selling publication in the English language – with two complementary events. Variety and excellence are the cornerstones of the Althorp Literary Festival, yet again, this summer.
