Bottoms up north: beer cheaper there, than the south

British beer lovers should head north. The weather may be grim up north, but the cheap beer will cheer you no end.
A study by the Good Pub Guide has shown that a pint would cost you on average £2.88 in the North West, North East and Yorkshire compared to £3.15 in the capital and South East.
The annual guide also says that that cost isn’t the only reason to journey north – apparently city pubs lack the ‘character’ and ‘charm’ to be found in country inns.
