Ski you on the slopes?

Submitted by Editor on October 31, 2011 – 6:30 amNo Comment

Yesterday we reported that Brits were feeling pessimistic about 2012 travel prospects. If you’re one of the 25 percent who plan to spend less on travel next year, may we suggest a skiing holiday?

Word has reached CD-Traveller towers, that thousands of skiing holidays are being discounted heavily. Why? One reason is that many schools are returning as early as January 3 preventing families from enjoying a decent amount of time on the slopes, after Christmas has come and gone. Then there’s the fact that Christmas and New Year both land on a weekend this year and many travellers who typically travel on a Saturday or Sunday, don’t want to ring in 2012  either in the sky or rushing to their resort.

So bad news for ski resorts then, but good news for us: some of the discounts are eye watering. Case in point? Ski operators such as Crystal and Inghams have slashed the prices of their skiing holidays, by a whopping 40 percent. Ski you there?

Thinking about hitting the slopes? For inspiration, be sure to check out CD-Traveller’s ski special next week
