Peaches Geldof got hitched here after a whirlwind romance, while pop princess Britney Spears married her childhood friend, Jason Alexander, at the Chapel in 2004 only to have the union annulled 55 hours later.

When the neon lights of the Strip get too much – as they will – head out of town to the Red Rock Canyon. Less than an hour’s drive away from the slot machines, the spectacular cliffs and canyons make for a refreshing change of scenery.

Hotel: Anyone up for total luxury, should book into the Bellagio (www.bellagio.com); the Rat Pack are among the hotel’s high profile past guests. A cheaper alternative is the pyramid themed Luxor Hotel (www.luxor.com).
