Travelling Pliosaur Cinema is a life-size Jurassic sea lizard (Horace) who will be touring the Dorset and Devon Jurassic Coast this summer. Brought to you by performing professors, audiences are invited to explore Horace and prepare him for the day, before venturing into his cavernous belly on a cinematic journey. Here you will experience the eccentric world of Professor Humphrieson and meet plesiosaurs and ichthyosaurs. The Travelling Pliosaur Cinema is a unique blend of engineering, film and puppetry devised by artist Sarah Butterworth, with theatrical engineer Mike Pattison, and film by Forkbeard Fantasy with the support of Activate Performing Arts and involving students from Arts University College, Bournemouth and Woodroffe School. It is inspired by the 2.4 metre fossilised skull found on the Jurassic Coast in 2009, now housed in Dorset County Museum. The Travelling Pliosaur Cinema is an Earth Festival flagship project and is part of Creative Coast 2012, animating the Jurassic Coast, Englands only natural World Heritage Site, through imaginative arts projects.Open 10:00 – 17:00The Travelling Pliosaur Cinema will also be appearing at:Durlston Country Park – 12 & 19 MayDorchester Festival – 2 – 4 June (3)Havens Big Green Weekend, Devon Cliffs – 9 JuneNatural Seaton Festival – 22 JuneSpirit of the Sea, Weymouth – 7 JulyPortland Illuminated Picnic – 22 JulyExmouth Earth Festival – 5 AugustFree entry except where stated otherwiseFacebook: Pliosaur Sea-Lizard
