Kim K and BA
Reality television personality, Kim Kardashian, recently flew from France to LA with British Airways, after attending the Cannes Film Festival.
After landing, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star spotted that some of her personal belongings were missing from her bag and took to Twitter to exclaim: “Very disappointed in British Airways for opening my luggage & taking some special items of mine! Some things are sentimental ¬ replaceable. What happened to the days when you could lock your bags! We need to get back to that. There’s no sense of security & no trust! Shame on you (sic)”
The American says staff stole “vintage sunglasses’ – a present from her Father, Robert Kardashian, before he died in 2003 – as well as several extremely expensive purses and Tumi luggage.
I sympathise with Kim but can’t help but wonder why, if the sunglasses and accessories meant so much to her, did she a) not keep them in her handbag or b) at least lock them in her luggage? As someone who regularly circumnavigates the globe (the jet setting socialite was snapped soaking up the sun in Mexico earlier this week before flying to Los Angeles for an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday), I’d expect Kim to know better: bags and items going missing is, sadly, one of the perils of modern travel.
It’s not often that people get behind BA but this is one of those rare occasions when the British national carrier has garnered widespread support. The 31 year old American television personality has accused the British airline (BA have said that they are investigating the matter) without any actual evidence. Whatever happened to “innocent until proven guilty?”
