Put down that camera! Oh yes, I do so agree. In the pre-digital age (yes, I'm old enough to remember it) one carefully considered how to use the 36 exposures of Kodak film which would then cost a bomb to get developed. Digital at first meant freedom - room for 999 shots on my memory card - wow! However, now, with many ill-labelled and half-forgotten relics of long-ago trips cluttering up my hard disk this has lost its enchantment. And why the strange urge to photograph friends and relations in front of landmarks? YOu know what they look like anyway.

I now rejoice in the freedom of the encounter with places and atmosphere, rather than madly clicking away. There are always images online.

I am in complete agreement with this suggestion, many times myself and my better half have stood in a check-in queue and were amazed at the size of some of the passengers around us, I am no pygmy 6ft+ 13.5 stone whilst she is 5ft4" and 9 stone, these fat people seem to run in families, if you get the 2 parents + 2kids in their teens they can, and frequently do, weigh 70+ stone together + their cases.
I once had to sit next to an obese woman on a return flight from Luxor, her huge fat body overflowed across my seat to the extent that I could not move, I requested a change of seat but there were none available, had there been an emergency I would have been stuck without hope, they should charge these fat, overweight slobs extra to sit in larger, stronger seats in their own section of the cabin.

The history of the African continent might have been very different if the missionaries like Livingstone had been allowed to stay without the " Traders " following immediately in their footsteps with nothing but profit at all cost in their mind.

How to win friends and influence people. Pay no attention to the bylaws and petty bureaucracy by which the populace are obliged to abide. As Captain Bryant said to Deckard; "Face it, buddy, if you ain't police, you're little people."

NYPD Spew. Don't you just love the Feds?

I know a laughing policeman ... but he was made redundant.

A surprisingly positive write up of Great Yarmouth. However, move up the coast into North Norfolk and you will find better resorts and beaches, though none quite as brash and big as Yarmouth. try Sheringham and Cromer for 'traditional' resorts, for the best beaches go along the coast to West Runton, Blakeney and Cley, and, further still, the 'Kensington-on-sea' of Burnham Market etc. Beswt beach of all is Holkham.

I agree about Slovenia. We visited Koper and found it to be a very clean place, not like our country where people have no compunction in dropping litter. By the way, it's the only country with love in its name!

I thoroughly agree about the sail up the fjord to Kotor - truly stunning. We were told that it's the most southerly fjord in the northern hemisphere. It was a year ago and our ship was the Thomson Destiny. My wife and I did a "Dubrovnik" and walked the town walls which took us just over an hour. Kotor's are much steeper and much more uneven and there are no cafes/bars along the way unlike Dubrovnik but well worth the effort. The view from the top is also stunning. The cruise ship down below at the small quay seemed almost within touching distance. Since it was a warm day, the local cold lager when we returned to the town was delicious and very welcome!

Camelot has been a 'run down has been' of a theme park for years and always seemed tired looking. My wife and I went there with our daughter and her 2 boys a few years back and it was, to say the least, dissapointing. The gift shop was full of overpriced tack, the staff hardly inspired enthusiasm and the rides were second rate. All in all, It's a shame that it never really took off and was always in the shadows of the more well invested big theme parks and the relatively near Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Much easier just to turn off your data.
A note of caution if you are using a free wifi hot spot - always turn off your mobile network first. I was connected in a McDs in sydney and hadn't realised that the wifi had dropped out - I was surfing using the phone network!
