Holiday World Show Opens
In Belfast, tomorrow the first of the big consumer holiday show opens. Sponsored by the Belfast Telegraph at the Kings Hall, the Holiday World Show is on until Sunday. The following weekend a slightly larger version moves on to the RDS, Simmonscourt in Dublin where some of the exhibitors vary.
There are over 60 destinations for you to consider and there will 1,000 people on hand to answer questions. And this is before the talks and the advice areas.
Exhibitors and the organizers will be looking closely at what people will be doing this year. This will be one of the first indications about how people will be reacting to the increased costs that they have been hit with. Will we stay at home or decide we must have an overseas break? As a show organizer, Edmund Hourican says,” it also provides the perfect opportunity for some instant price and value comparisons.”
“This year exhibitors are offering some superb show deals and the range of venues has never been broader, from the international hotspots in Europe and beyond which traditionally attract Irish holiday-makers to some hidden gems which are just beginning to open up to tourists. Whether you’re planning a short- or long-haul trip; whether it’s a short break or a long vacation one theme will dominate in 2011: value. In terms both of value and choice, from bargain breaks right up to top of the market I feel there has never been a better time to travel.”
Attached to the Belfast show will be the Caravan & Motorhome Show and Angling Ireland as well as a special cruise area reflecting the great interest that there has been in cruising over the last few years. Entry into all is available for just the one price. And that price is £6 for adults, seniors at £4, students at £3 and a family ticket, £12.
